Barbara Gibson, ABC, heads her own London-based intercultural communication consultancy, Cultural Resolution. An American transplant to the UK with more than 20 years experience in communication, she has worked with leading companies worldwide.
In 2008-09, Barbara served as international Chair of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), a 16,000-member global professional association. She continues to serve as Past Chair, and is a member of the Board of Trustees for the IABC Research Foundation. Previously she served as president of the UK chapter of IABC and as Region Chair for IABC Europe and Middle East. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA), a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), and a member of the City Women’s Network (CWN).
Barbara holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Oklahoma City University, and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Intercultural Communication at Birkbeck College, University of London. An Accredited Business Communicator (ABC), she has received more than three dozen professional awards, including an IABC Gold Quill Award of Excellence. She is a frequent speaker for local, national and international conferences.
